This plant is now grown around the world but historically mostly came from India and Indonesia. It’s broad green leaves are used in cooking but the tuber or root is what most of us know. In recent years there has been a lot of claims that constituents in turmeric “reduce inflammation, fight cancer cells, aid with macular degeneration, cleanse the blood” to mention a few. The curcumins are attributed to the benefit of consuming turmeric and its usually about 2-5 % of the total volume of turmeric. We sell turmeric from Indonesia, Guatemala, and Peru.
